Reminding us of 1970s motoring, the Morris Marina was a highly popular rear wheel drive small family car, although its unfair Press coverage of the time hailed it as the worst car ever.  However, we are sure there are motors that have emerged since that could easily inherit that title!  The Morris Marina superseded the Morris Minor and Morris Oxford, being produced by the Austin Morris division of British Leyland between 1971 and 1980. Variants included the four door; 5 -door estate car, 2-door coupé, 2-door pick up and even a 2-door van.

Our  1:76 scale Oxford replica represents the four door version. And for its latest outing, our Marina appears in a deep red colour scheme with both black and silver trim, registered SUD 494N from 1974.The interior is moulded in an even darker purple red with contrasting dark brown dashboard and steering wheel.  A special detail worthy of note is the silver trim to the radiator grille and also to the edge of the wheel arches.

The Morris Marina, which was also in popular use as a support vehicle by the Emergency Services, was superseded by the Morris Ital in 1980.
