This beautiful Oxford Aston Martin DB6 MkII Volante is registered EBY 776J from 1969/1970, modelled on the car belonging to HM King Charles III. It is a replica of the rare and highly collectable two seater convertible version of the DB6, recognised by its distinctive flared wheel arches and improved features such as power steering and a 5-speed gearbox. In real life, it was destined to be the last of the classic Aston Martin convertibles produced during the David Brown era at Newport Pagnell. Only 38 were ever made, making it one of the rarest Aston Martins.
Painted in a striking tropical blue on a black chassis, exterior trim includes silver wheels and a silver radiator wiped black. The interior features a black folded back tonneau cover, black flooring and dashboard while the seating is moulded in a rich dark blue. The very special silver Dragon bonnet mascot with wings unfurled is personal to His Majesty, formerly the Prince of Wales.
As well as appealing to collectors of vehicles with a Royal connection, this splendid car will also arouse the interest of Aston Martin enthusiasts in general.
